Armand Despons

I am a theoretical physicist trained in thermodynamics and statistical physics, with a particular interest in the physics of biochemical systems. During my PhD, I studied autocatalysis, a central feature of metabolism, from a theoretical standpoint. I examined how the topology of autocatalytic reaction networks shapes their nonequilibrium behavior. As a postdoc, I now focus on bioenergetics by developing theory in close connection with experimental data to understand how thermodynamics influences cell physiology.
